Domaine Schueller et Fils

Bruno Schueller

Histoire

Création du domaine : 1958
Superficie des vignes : 10 ha
Culture : Agriculture biologique et biodynamique
Certification : —

Story

Establishment : 1958
Surface : 10 ha
Culture : Organic Farming and biodynamic
Certification : —

Founded by Gérard Schueller in 1958, this domaine has never once used herbicides — a commitment that has held firm even as chemical pesticides became widespread in the 1970s and continues to this day.
The current owner, Bruno, grew up with a love of sport. He attended an agricultural high school, where he studied conventional winemaking — but the methods he was taught gradually gave rise to doubts, and he found himself drawn ever deeper into the world of wine. He began working at his father’s domaine at the age of 18. While Bruno has carried on his father’s philosophy of avoiding chemicals and working as close to nature as possible, he brings a freer and more creative approach to the craft.
The domaine is located in Husseren-les-Châteaux, the highest village on the Alsace Wine Route. Among its 10 hectares of vineyards are two Grands Crus: Eichberg and Pfersigberg. In the cellar, Bruno keeps intervention to a strict minimum — using virtually no sulfites and relying on natural yeasts for spontaneous fermentation. The result is a range of wines of remarkable complexity, aromatic richness, and distinctive character.

Story
