Les vignes ont toujours fait parties de la famille depuis des générations. À la suite du décès de leur père, Marion et Mathieu reprennent le domaine en 2001, et le chai est repris par leur cousin.
En 2003, ils construisent leur propre cave et créent ainsi le Domaine des Capriers. Le câprier est l’arbre fruitier produisant les câpres, et un symbole de la Méditerranée et de la région du Sud de la France, au même titre que le figuier, l’amandier et l’olivier. De plus, le câprier est également l’arbre préféré de Jérôme, qui travaille au domaine depuis l’époque de son père.
Marion et Mathieu n’ont pas suivi d’école de viticulture. Ils sont en effet autodidactes, mettant à l’œuvre leur passion pour le vin, les enseignements de leur famille et leur expérience transmise de génération en génération. D’ailleurs, Mathieu le frère cadet est un ancien rugbyman et a fait des études supérieures de mathématiques.
Leur vignoble est dominé par de vieilles vignes, certains Carignan ayant plus de 50 ans. Chaque année, 1 % du vignoble est replanté avec de nouveaux pieds. Ils se sont progressivement convertis à l’agriculture biologique et ont obtenu la certification AB ces dernières années.

In 2001, after the passing of their father, Marion and her brother Mathieu inherited the vineyards that had been in the family for generations. Originally 20 hectares of vineyard, have now extended to 32. The vineyards, which had been passed down from generation to generation, was taken over by Marion and Mathieu, while their cousin took charge of the cave.
In 2003, they built a brand new cave and named their domain, the Domaine des Capriers. Caprier meaning capers, is a symbol of the Mediterranean and the South of France, along with the fig, almond, and the olive tree. Jérôme, who had worked at the domain since their father’s time, was very fond of the caprier tree, another significance to the naming.
Neither of the siblings attended a school in viticulture or oenology, but they taught themselves–thanks to their passion for wine, family teachings and experiences. Indeed Mathieu, is a rugby athlete and studied mathematics in graduate school.
Their vineyards are dominated by old vines, with the majority of carignan vines over 50 years old. Every year they replant 1% of the vineyard with new seedlings. They converted to organic farming gradually, and have finally obtained a bio (organic) certification.

代々続く畑を父の死をきっかけに2001年、姉のマリオンと弟のマチューで引き継いだ。当時は20haだった畑も現在では32ha。元々彼らの父親もワイン生産者で、代々受け継いできた畑を姉弟で、醸造所はいとこが引き継いだ。
2003年に自分たちで新しい醸造所を建て、新しいドメーヌ名をドメーヌ・デ・カプリエと名乗る。カプリエとは、ケッパーのこと。地中海と南仏のシンボルである、イチジクの樹、アーモンドの樹、オリヴィエの樹と並びケッパーの樹もシンボルとなっている。
もうひとつ、父の時代からドメーヌに勤めているジェローム氏が大好きだった樹がカプリエだったことにも由来する。
姉弟は二人ともワイン醸造学校には通ったことはないものの、ワインへの情熱と代々続く家族の教え、そして経験を活かし独学ながらワインを造ってきた。ちなみに弟のマチューはラガーマンであり、大学院で数学を専攻していた。
彼らの畑は古い樹が多く、樹齢50年以上のカリニャンが占める。毎年全畑の1％を新しい苗に植え直している。徐々に有機栽培へと変え、ついにビオ認証を獲得した。
