Didier et son frère Jean Luc ont repris le vignoble familial en 1993 et ont également acheté une cave située à proximité de la maison. A l’époque, son grand père et son père cultivaient les raisins mais les vendaient à la cave coopérative. Depuis, Luc le frère aîné s’occupe principalement des machines agricoles, et Didier de la vinification.
L’écosystème à l’intérieur et autour du vignoble étant important pour l’élaboration du vin, les frères Barral élèvent du bétail, notamment des vaches, des poulets et des chevaux.
Après les vendanges et jusqu’au printemps, les bovins, les chevaux et d’autres animaux sont lâchés dans les vignobles pour un désherbage naturel et la fertilisation, car leurs excréments fournissent de la nourriture aux insectes vivant dans les vignobles. Une grande variété d’arbres et d’arbustes poussent autour des vignes. Ainsi, ils ont réussi à créer un cycle naturel tout autour du domaine.
Léon a également été l’un des premiers à produire du vin naturel dans le sud, à une époque où l’agroécologie était encore très peu répandue.

Didier and his brother Jean-Luc took over the familial vineyard in 1993 and bough a wine cellar near to their house. At that time, their grandfather and father cultivated grapes but sold it to cooperatives. Since then, Luc who’s the eldest brother is working on agricultural machines and Didier on the winemaking part.
The ecosystem around and in the vineyard is important for the winemaking that’s why Barral’s brothers are raising cows, chickens, et horses on their property.
After the harvest and until spring, cows, horses, and other animals are released into the vineyards for natural weeding and fertilization, as their droppings provide food for the insect living in the vineyards. A wide variety of trees and shrubs grow around the vines. In this way, they have succeeded in creating a natural cycle around the vineyard.
Léon has been also one of the earliest to produce natural wine in the south, at a time where agroecology was rare.

祖父や父はブドウを造り農協に売っていた。1993年ディディエと兄のジャン・リュークが畑を引き継ぎ、家のそばの醸造所も購入。兄のジャン・リュークが農機具、弟のディディエは醸造を主に担当している。
畑や畑の周りの生態系がワイン造りにおいて重要という考えのもと、牛や鶏、馬などの家畜を育てている。収穫後から春までの間、除草と施肥のため牛や馬などの家畜を畑に放ち、そのフンが畑の虫たちの餌となる。畑の周りには多種多様な樹木や低木が生えている。ここでは自然のサイクルができているのだ。
アグロエコロジーが今よりもっと知名度が低かった時に、南でナチュラルワインを造った一人である。
